CODE OF
CONDUCT

CODE OF
CONDUCT
.

for filmmakers, mentors, guests & community members

Welcome to greenstories!

greenstories is a space built for filmmakers - for incubation, mentoring, pitching and presenting your stories around ecology and ecosystems, climate and the environment, wildlife conservation and peoples and communities. This Code of Conduct exists to protect and nurture our creative environment — so that everyone who walks through our doors feels safe and supported.

This code of conduct applies to all staff, volunteers, guests, and affiliates of greenstories. By attending or participating in any greenstories event or activity, you agree to uphold these standards.

We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment, free from discrimination and harassment of any kind. All participants are expected to interact with respect and integrity, maintaining confidentiality where required.

Everything we do at greenstories flows from five core values:

Creativity — we celebrate original voices and encourage experimentation without judgement.

Safety — everyone deserves to feel physically and emotionally safe in this space.

Respect — we listen as generously as we speak, and treat every person with dignity.

Inclusion — we actively welcome people of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities.

Community — we look out for one another, in the room and beyond it.

Be part of the community.

Here is how you can help make greenstories a space for everyone.

Engage with genuine attention: When someone is presenting or pitching their work, give them your full focus. silence your phone, hold side conversations for later, and receive what is being shared with openness.

Share honestly: When you share your own work or perspective, bring your authentic voice. greenstories is a space for work in progress. You are never obligated to share more than you are comfortable with.

Give feedback with care: presenting work can be deeply personal. After someone has shared, be thoughtful before jumping in. Constructive feedback is welcome and encouraged — but only when invited, and always delivered with respect for the effort behind the work.

Respect boundaries: Ask before photographing, recording, or sharing anyone’s work or image. Respect people’s wishes around their projects and personal disclosures.

Credit and consent: Work shared at greenstories belongs to its creator. Do not share, reproduce, or discuss someone else’s project outside this space without their explicit permission.

In order to keep greenstories a safe and creative space, the following is not welcome:

• harassment, intimidation, or unwanted physical contact of any kind.

• discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, nationality, or any other characteristic.

• deliberate misuse of pronouns or names after being corrected.

• hateful, threatening, or dehumanising language or content.

• disruptive behaviour that interferes with presentations, pitches, or other participants.

• recording, sharing, or reproducing others’ work, images, or personal details without consent.

• any behaviour that makes others feel unsafe, excluded, or unwelcome.

Reporting violations: if you experience or witness misconduct, please report it promptly. Your safety and well-being are our priority.

Speak to any greenstories team member directly - they will be clearly identified at every event.

Email us at contact@green-stories.in

All complaints are confidential and handled with care and respect. Anyone who violates this code of conduct may be asked to stop the behaviour in question, to leave the event, or in serious cases, to not return to future greenstories events. We will always aim to handle situations with care, but the safety of the community comes first.

By attending or participating in greenstories, you are helping to build something special: a community where filmmakers are supported, challenged, and celebrated. Thank you for being part of it.

We review and update our procedures annually to ensure continuous improvement.
