No, Green Stories is a platform that helps filmmakers develop their stories in a more compelling manner by providing mentorship from some of the top documentary filmmakers and producers worldwide. It offers opportunities to pitch in front of top-notch commissioners and decision makers across various sectors including television broadcasters, streaming platforms, festivals, distributors, producers as well as impact and outreach channels. Green Stories connects projects to the right commissioners and facilitates one-on-one conversations to support their development and access the available opportunities.

Yes, it is preferred that filmmakers have at least 2-3 years of experience. However, first-time filmmakers may also apply. Please note that significant weight will be given to the 3-4 minute trailer. First-time filmmakers also have the option to apply as observers. Selected observers will have access to all the labs and curated sessions like masterclasses, talks and screening.

Green Stories expects submissions of projects on environment, wildlife, conservation, changing landscapes, climate resilience and vulnerabilities to creatively examine how humans connect with the natural world and renegotiate the evolving relationships in the face of current crises.

Yes, you can apply for more than one project. Each project requires a separate application.

The week-long event from November 6th to 11th, 2025 will be held in Goa.
November 6th to 9th, 2025 (Thursday to Sunday)
Visual and Narrative Labs,
November 10th and 11th, 2025 (Monday and Tuesday)
Pitches, Business Meetings and Closing Dinner.
All participants are expected to arrive a day prior to the event and can travel back post the pitches.

The deadline for submission is July 31st, 2025. Once the call for applications is closed, our selection committee will review all the proposals. The results will be announced in September 2024. All selected participants will be invited to attend the Green Stories pitching event scheduled to take place from November 6th to 11th, 2024, in Goa, India.

Any filmmaker, aspiring producer, film enthusiast, student of film, media, and art institutions, or professionals, as well as emerging filmmakers are welcome to apply as observers to participate in the workshops and related events of Green Stories.

Observers are welcome to attend all the labs - same as the selected projects. The Green Stories team will assign labs based on observers' interests. Once registered online, observers can also attend masterclasses, final pitches, the 'Welcome to Green Stories' session, the closing dinner, and network with guests, including mentors, filmmakers, and commissioners.

We have a limited number of observer slots for the workshop and the selections made by Green Stories will be considered final and binding. There will be 8 observer positions available.

Anyone who is interested in nurturing an environment of community and learning is welcome to apply. If you drive then thats an incredible added bonus and if you live in Goa then thats fantastiic.
Film students are encouraged to apply with logistics (travel and accommodation) support from their respective institutions.
We can help provide the best possible reasonable options for travel and accommodation for volunteers who travel from outside Goa . Green Stories will provide a daily allowance.

Volunteers will work closely with the Green Stories team. Responsibilities will be assigned based on volunteers' capabilities and interests, with final decisions made by the Green Stories. Volunteers are at the core of a successful Green Stories event and they make things possible.

It is mandatory to join in-person and be available to be in Goa during the entire event.

The required time will depend on the responsibilities assigned to each volunteer. Details regarding time commitments and other aspects will be discussed and planned individually with each volunteer. Though the days are long but they are absolutely fun!
